Dear Retailers,

We have received the following communication from Pirelli:

Pirelli Tire LLC (“Pirelli”) prides itself in commitment to high standards and the safety of its consumers. The purpose of this letter is to advise you that Pirelli is voluntarily recalling certain race tire products due to the potential for tires to experience rapid air loss, resulting in potential loss of bicycle control.

Please cease sale of the following tires:

DIRECTIONS TO RETAILERS

  • Retailer should first check if the product returned by the Consumer is eligible for a replacement (Check the Tire ID on Sidewall and Production Date Code to see if tire is covered by recall).
  • Retailer should offer a free Pirelli tire of the same type when available and inform the Consumer that replacement tires are expected to arrive at the end of August.
  • Retailer must keep the returned tires in a secure area and arrange for shipment or pickup of the tires, in coordination with its distributor.
  • After the Retailer returns the affected tires to its distributor, the delivery of free tire replacements will be arranged through the distributor.
  • For any tire collected from Consumer and returned to the distributor, Pirelli will offer a free 60 ml bottle of Pirelli sealant to support the change of the tire.

REFUND

  • If Consumer wishes to receive a refund instead of a replacement tire, the Retailer should direct Consumer to contact Pirelli directly at [email protected] or 1-800-622- 2390 (available Monday to Friday between 8AM to 6PM).
  • Please see the consumer refund process below for specific steps that Consumer must follow.

DIRECTIONS TO CONSUMER

  • Consumer should contact Pirelli directly at [email protected] or 1-800-622- 2390 (available Monday to Friday between 8AM to 6PM) to obtain a copy of the Compensation Request Form.
  • Consumer must send an e-mail to [email protected] with
  • (1) the completed Compensation Request Form, (2) photos of the Tire ID and production date code, and (3) receipt from original place of purchase (if the receipt is not available, Pirelli will compensate the consumer with the value of the tire MSRP).
  • Once Pirelli verifies the information provided, Pirelli will send a prepaid shipping label to Consumer to return the tire to Pirelli. Upon tire return, Pirelli will validate the refund claim and issue a refund to Consumer by the method selected by consumer (Visa card or mailed paper check).
